How we work with S2dio on Wood
TFT have supported S2dio on a number of supply chains over the years to ensure all of the wood used in their products come from a known source that actively manage their operations to ensure environmental and social practices are continually improving. Our support to S2dio currently focuses on their Kwila (Merbau) supply chains and can be separated into two categories;
Forest project support – where TFT staff periodically visit the operations on the ground to meet with management and operational staff, as well as local stakeholders, to check the status of performance and to provide training/assistance towards improved practices. This work requires significant time and cost and we have been supported by The Borneo Initiative and the Australian Government in our endeavors.
Supply chain traceability support – where TFT staff visit the supply chain to check the traceability of wood sources for each order, including the manufacturing factory, as well as the upstream supply chain collection or processing nodes where necessary. TFT call this a Wood Control System (WCS). Where gaps in performance are noticed we provide written recommendations and also assist to train where useful.
Continue WCS and forest management support for all orders containing Kwila wood, though 2016.
